Those shoreworkers, tendermen or fishermen who...
- Are over 60 years of age.
- Have retired from the industry.
- Are Union members in good standing upon retirement (Dues up to date and have worked or fished or been on Benefits in the last year)
upon application to the General Executive Board, can become Retired Members
UFAWU union dues for retired members are $36 per year, payable to the Union.. Retired Members have full voice in the Union, will receive UFAWU correspondence and bulletins and eligible to join Unifor’s Retired Workers Chapters.
Retired Members can be eligible for Benefits. The Shoreworkers Benefit Fund and United Fishermen's Benefit Fund both have their own qualifying conditions for retirement Benefits.
