Bulletin: Mental Health Coverage Added to the United Fishermen’s Benefit Fund

UFAWU-Unifor is proud to announce a new addition to the United Fishermen’s Benefit Fund.

Starting Jan 1, 2022, the United Fishermen’s Benefit Fund will include coverage of up to $500 yearly for counselling services.

This coverage may include counselling expenses from registered psychologists, registered counsellors and/or registered social workers.

The issues and illnesses that impact mental health do not discriminate based on profession and access to help is crucial for those suffering from mental health disorders.

UFAWU-Unifor is very pleased to be able to offer this coverage and hopes it will help United Fishermen’s Benefit Fund members who require access to counselling services.

This new coverage will be added alongside other United Fishermen’s Benefit Fund benefits which include financial assistance with dental work, hospital stays, shipwrecks, lost income due to illness, total disability, loss of life, and other benefits.
